Akkermans Leisure & Golf

The Golfclub Akkermans Leisure & Golf is situated in the village of De Heen, which belongs to the municipality of Steenbergen in the Dutch province of Westbrabant. It stretches across the area of a former farm near the Heenser windmill De Voos in the Heense Polder and offers a beautiful view of the surrounding polder landscape. From the next largest town of Steenbergen, one can reach the Golfclub Akkermans Leisure & Golf in eight minutes via the Zeelandweg-Oost/N257. It was founded in 2009 and opened a 9-hole parkland course with par 3 in the same year, the fairways of which have a length of 60 to 120 meters. Golf course architect Michael van der Vaart from Jol Golfdesign created the course. He designed merely the 1335-meter-long course with hilly fairways, large, modulated greens, well placed bunkers, and clever water hazards. The golf course of Akkermans Leisure & Golf is technically demanding, but both beginners and experienced golfers can master it well. It is seen as the best par 3 course in the province of Brabant. The golf club’s practice area is equipped with a 200-meter-long driving range with 20 tees, ten of which are covered, two practice greens, a target green, a special undulating putting green, a chipping green, and a practice bunker.
