Ballinasloe Golf Club

The Ballinasloe Golf Club has a very long history: Having been founded in 1894, it is not only one of the oldest clubs in the province of Connacht, but the oldest in Ireland. The 18-hole course with par 72 was designed by the golf course designer Eddie Connaughton as a parkland course and is 5,868 meters long. The facilities at Ballinasloe Golf Club are located in the similarly-named town of Ballinasloe in Galway, in the heart of the Emerald Isle. The championship course is pleasantly challenging, but also easy to master for beginners. Its fast greens are well-maintained throughout the year. Many old trees, perfectly-placed bunkers, and tricky water hazards on the course require a strategic and technically-precise game. Golfers can practice at the driving range; in addition, a Pro Shop, bar, and restaurant are featured on-site. Guests are always welcome at Ballinasloe Golf Club. Accommodation is also available at the club. If necessary, golf clubs and electric carts are available for rent. Guests arriving in October should not miss the Ballinasloe Fair, one of the oldest horse fairs in the world which has been held since the 8th century. Visitors from every corner of the globe are always greatly impressed by this event.
