Barrière International Golf La Baule – François André Course

The Barrière International Golf La Baule golf club can be found only a few miles from the coast of the Atlantic, near the western commune of Saint-André-des-Eaux in the Pays de la Loire region, which the department of Loire-Atlantique is part of. It sits in the middle of the regional natural park of Brière and spans across an area of 220 hectares. Barrière International Golf La Baule has excellent transport links to the surrounding towns. It can be reached from Saint-André-des-Eaux in 6 minutes by the Route de Saint-Donac, from Guérande in just a quarter of an hour via the D247 and from Saint-Nazaire in only 20 minutes via the D47. The golf club was established in 1976 and consists of 3 golf courses – the 18 hole, par 72 Rouge Lucien Barrière course; the 18 hole, par 72 Bleu Diane Barrière-Desseigne and the 9 hole, par 36 François André course. The course was designed by the renowned golf course architects Dave Thomas, Michel Gayon and Peter Alliss. Barrière International Golf La Baule is the largest golfing facility in France with 45 holes. The François André course was added in May 2016 as a beginner’s course. At this golf club, there is a course for golfers of all skill levels. The Lucien Barrière course is particularly technical and along with 9 level fairways and 9 which slope, has numerous water hazards. Similarly challenging is the Diane Barrière-Desseigne course, where 9 holes wind around a 5 hectare lake.
