Bay View Golf Course

The Bay View Golf Course is located in the small town of Kaneohe on the island of Oahu in Honolulu County, which lies in the US state of Hawaii. It stretches out near the coast with a view of the Pacific at Kaneohe Bay and has the Kawa Stream flow through it. Four minutes away from downtown Kaneohe, the Bay View Golf Course can be reached in about half an hour via the HI-63 N from Hawaii’s capital of Honolulu. The course was opened as a 9-hole course by Jimmy Ukauka back in 1963 and then reconstructed by Robin Nelson in 1997 as an 18-hole executive course with par 60. The 3,108 meter long course shows short, broad fairways; mostly large, elevated greens and displays considerable altitude differences. The Bay View Golf Course features water hazards at six holes. The Kawa Stream crosses the course at hole 8 and must be played across by golfers. At hole 15, a long hit across a lake is required. The newly constructed last nine holes are very narrow, and holes 11 and 12 are even considered the narrowest on Oahu. The course of the Bay View Golf Course particularly useful for practicing the short game and also open to golfers at night. It is also the only course on Oahu, on which football is played.
