The Beijing Country Golf Club is located in the town of Mapo in the Chinese district of Shunyi east of the capital Peking. It runs across a 2,400,000-square-meter-large area on the west banks of Chaobai River in a rural region with forest strips, orchards, meadows, and hills. From the city center of Peking, you can reach the Beijing Country Golf Club in an hour via the S 12 and in about 40 minutes from the airport in Peking. It was founded in 1988 and opened a 54-hole-golf-course, which was designed by the Chinese golf course architect Cheng Chun Bo, in 1990. He created three 18-hole-courses in parkland style with par 72, which together have a total length of 19,114 meters. Therefore, the golf course at the Beijing Country Golf Club is the largest golf course of North China. The individual courses of the three courses run across a flat area and are shaped by lush, long, tree-lined fairways and challenging greens. There are numerous water hazards in the form of artificial lakes and ponds, of which, however, only the large lake with a pretty island green must be overplayed at hole 5. In addition, there are some sharply bent doglegs as well as tricky fairway bunkers. Golfers of all handicaps can easily master the large golf course. In the training area of the club, golfers find a long, two-storied, driving range with 42 range tees as well as a putting green.
