Bukit Jawi Golf Resort – Lakes Course

The Bukit Jawi Golf Resort can be found on the coastal strip Seberang Perai, near the city of Stadt Sungai Jawi, in the Malaysian state of Pinang on the road of Malakka. It stretches across the 127-hectare plot of a former oil palm plantation and lies in the midst of sand dunes, palm trees, and large lakes. From Sungai Jawi’s center, the Bukit Jawi Golf Resort is quick to reach in just five minutes. It houses a 36-hole golf park that opened in 1992 and was created by golf course designers Khor Keng Teik and Wong Yew Kuan on hilly terrain. It consists of two 18-hole courses, the Hill Course and Lake Course with par 72. The 6,385-meter-long Hill Course features long, wide, wavy fairways and mostly elevated greens. Clear elevation differences and greenside bunkers add more difficulty to mastering the course than the water hazards in the form of small lakes, which only need to be played across at 5 holes. The Lake Course is 6,163 meters long, has shorter holes, but more water hazards and sand bunkers that protect the greens. It also displays many changes in elevation. The highlight is the signature hole 15, where a large island green awaits. This must be played across again from hole 18, since it crosses the fairway. The Bukit Jawi Golf Resort ranks among the 20 best golf resorts in Malaysia, with technically and athletically challenging golf courses.
