Thanks to its terrific location on Cape Breton Island in eastern Canada, the idyllic Cape Breton Highlands Golf Course is nestled on the North Atlantic coast and offers eleven holes with a direct view of the ocean. The untouched nature inspired the Canadian golf architect, Stanley Thompson, in 1939 to design a homage to Scottish golf tradition. He called his creation a “mountain and ocean course.” Via the Cabot Trail, one of the main roads on Cape Breton Island, visitors can comfortably reach the golf course by car. As one of the most favored golf courses in Canada, the challenging Cape Breton Highlands Golf Course has won several awards – making it especially well-suited for intermediate and experienced golfers. However, even beginners are welcome to practice on the hilly 18-hole course with par 72 and perfect their game. 57 sand bunkers and several ponds, as well as two large fairways characterize the grounds. Visitors can rent clubs, as well as power and pull carts – even a practice green is available.
