Church Stretton Golf Club

Located in the west of England, Church Stretton Golf Club extends over a length of more than 5,000 yards. By car, the Church Stretton Golf Club, which is not far from the town of Shrwesbury, can be reached via the A39. It is a demanding golf course that presents real challenges even for experienced golfers. The first hole of the 18-hole course is considered one of the most difficult in the entire country. The course’s architects achieved a masterful integration of the golf course into the region’s undulating landscape. Some of the holes were designed by the greats of British golfing, such as Harry Vardon or James Braid. An efficient irrigation system allows nearly year-round usage of the course. For several years now, the former PGA pro James Townsend has been managing Church Stretton Golf Club. The rural-appearing clubhouse contains a bar and a small restaurant. Church Stretton Golf Club is open all seven days of the week.
