The Club du Lys Chantilly can be found in the town of Lamorlaye, which belongs to the department of Oise in the northern French region of Picardie. It stretches across 50 hectares of the Domaine de Lys Chantilly, a former manor from the 13th century, which lies in the middle of the forest of Chantilly, near the Cistercian abbey Abbaye du Royaumont. The Club du Lys Chantilly is well connected to the traffic network of the region of Paris. From Chantilly, the club can be reached via the D1016 in 12 minutes, and from Paris in about half an hour directly via the A3. The grounds of the Domaine de Lys Chantilly were purchased in 1928 by the banker’s wife Marthe Hanau and established as Club du Lys Chantilly in 1929. In the same year, the 18 hole parkland course Les Chênes with par 70 was opened, the design of which falls back on golf course architect Tom Simpson. The rather flat, 6022 meter long course is characterized by long, broad fairways, doglegs, and grassy bunkers on a sandy ground. Between 1976 and 1980, the second 4805 meter long 18 hole course Les Bouleaux with par 68 was added. Patrick Cros and Robert Berthet created its design. In contrast to Les Chênes, the fairways are shorter and narrower. In 2009, the course arrangement at the Club du Lys Chantilly was completed with a 9 hole compact pitch & putt course with par 27 by Didier Fruchet.
