Costa Navarino -The Bay Course

The golf facility of Costa Navarino has two great courses and is situated right above the Bay of Navarino. The course has been opened in 2011. Along with the Dunes Course it is another “golf gem” at Peleponnes. The 18-hole course with par 70 was designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. and is a real treasure. Golfers can enjoy fantastic views of the blue shimmering Ionian Sea and the rugged mountains in the hinterland. The fairways are very hilly and athletically demanding. Whit its 5,422 meters, this course is a bit shorter than The Dunes Course. One of the most outstanding holes is number 4, facing the bay with the town of Pylos. The canyon holes with their elevated tees demand special precision. Other fairways meander through a century-old olive grove. The Bay Course provides a lot of fun for golfers. There is a driving range and a golf academy for training purposes. After your golf day, you can relax at the “Flame restaurant” in the club house. They Bay Course is only 40 kilometers from the airport Kalamata and can easily be reached. The quiet golf and vacation destination has a historical meaning: The fleet of Athens prevailed over Sparta in the Bay of Navarino during the Peloponnesian War in 425 B.C. Also, the rule of the Ottomans over Greece ended here after the naval battle of Navarino in 1827.
