Costa Navarino -The Dunes Course

The golf facility of Costa Navarino has two great courses and is situated right above the Bay of Navarino. The Dunes Course is integrated in a breathtaking landscape directly at the beach of the Ionian Sea. The 18-hole course was designed by German golf legend Bernhard Langer and opened in 2010. It is the first signature golf course in Greece. The par 71 course is harmonically embedded in a fantastic landscape at the southwestern tip of the Peloponnesian peninsula. It is about 6,018 meters long and provides great views of the Mediterranean Sea and the Bay of Navarino. The bay went down in history in 1827 when the Turks were defeated in a historic major naval battle. The course is challenging and varied. Some holes are located on a small river. The fairways are pleasantly wide and surrounded by ancient olive trees and beautiful lemon trees. Already the second hole leads down to the sea, whose azure waves sparkle in the sun. Each hole has multiple tee-off options. Hole 15 and 16 are some of the most interesting fairways. You need to play around ancient archaeological sites. The championship course is not far from two luxury hotels. You can treat yourself with culinary delights at the “Flame restaurant” in the club house and enjoy the view of the sea and the near mountains with a cool drink. The Dunes Course it only about 40 kilometers from the airport Kalamata and has great archaeological sites nearby.
