The Crécy Golf Club is located near the medieval town of Crécy-la-Chapelle in the department of Seine-et-Marne in the region of Île-de-France. It stretches across an area of 110 hectares in the Domaine de la Brie, an old farmstead from the 17th century in typical Crécy architectural style. The grounds are slightly hilly and allow a beautiful view of the landscape of the Brie. The Crécy Golf Club has good transport links and is 45 minutes away from Paris via the A4. It was founded in 1987 and features an athletically challenging 36 hole park. The 9-hole par 72 course Monpichet was opened in 1987 and is based on a design by Antoine d’Ormesson. It is 6,038 meters long and is characterized by a slightly hilly terrain with several small ponds and numerous trees. In 2009, the 18 hole meadowland course Vignoly “Palmer” with par 72 was added, for which the club was able to win the world-famous American golf course architect and repeated Open winner Arnold Palmer. He created a championship course with a length of 6,342 meters, wavy fairways and undulating greens, 14 large water hazards, 63 bunkers, and few trees. An additional challenge lies in the course’s very hilly terrain. While Monpichet is a good course for beginners and less experienced golfers, Vignoly demands tactical skill and precise play from experienced golfers.
