Djerba Golf Club

The Djerba Golf Club can be found on the northeastern coast of the Tunisian Mediterranean island of Djerba in the Gulf of Gabès. It runs along a 100-hectare terrain in a palm tree landscape between dunes, beaches and the ocean. The neighboring town of Djerba-Midoun is about 15 minutes away from the Djerba Golf Club, while Djerba’s international airport Houmt Souk is a good 30 minutes away via the Boulevard de l’Environment. The club was founded in 1995 and is home to a 27-hole park comprised of three 9-hole courses. The courses can be combined as desired to create three individual 18-hole course. British golf course architect Martin Hawtree was responsible for the design of all courses. The Palmiers Course, a links course with par 37, has a length of 3,055 meters and shows very long, wavy fairways framed by palm trees, many bunkers, and lakes. At hole 8, golfers must play across a water hazard. The La Mer Course, a links course with par 36 and a length of 3,151 meters, lies right by the Mediterranean Sea. It features narrow, long fairways, bunkers, low sand dunes as well as numerous water hazards such as ponds and salt water lagoons. Hole 6 requires a tee-off across water, while hole 7 runs completely parallel to the beach. The shortest course at Djerba Golf Club is Les Acacias Course, a links course with par 35 and a length of 2,743 meters. Between 2014 and 2019 the clubhouse, the greens, tees and putting greens were renovated.
