Domaine et Golf de Vaugouard

The Domaine et Golf de Vaugouard golf club is near the commune of Fontenay-sur-Loing in the Centre-Val de Loire region, in the department of Loires in central France. It lies embedded in hills with old trees and is flanked on both sides by oak, beech and cypress forests. The club is just under 2 miles away from the Vaugouard castle, which was built in the 15th century. The Domaine et Golf de Vaugouard proves its central location with its excellent transport connections to the large cities of France. From Orléans, the club is an hour away from club via the A19 and from the capital city of Paris, it is 76 minutes away by the A6. It was founded in 1987 and opened a golf course which was designed by golf architect duo Fromanger and Adam. The Domaine et Golf de Vaugouard houses a flat, 5,548 meter long 18 hole, par 72 course, the beginning and end of which has a river flowing through. The first nine holes pass through woods, the remaining go through technically challenging landscape with ponds. In addition, bunkers, doglegs and more water hazards make the course more difficult. On hole 12, golfers also play on an island green and must cross several ponds on hole 18. The golf club has a driving range with floodlights and a putting green, as well as pitch & putt area, at its disposal.
