Ekerum Resort Öland

The Ekerum Resort Öland is located near the city of Borgholm on the west coast of the Swedish island of Öland. In spite of its island location, it is well connected by traffic. By car or bus, the Ekerum Resort Öland can comfortably be reached from the Swedish mainland, on the other side of the Kalmar Strait, by the Öland Bridge and Route 137/136. In total, it accommodates four golf courses: the 18-hole courses Långe Jan and Långe Erik, as well as the 9-hole courses Pitch&Putt and Short Game. Peter Nordvall is responsible for the design of both of the 18-hole courses. They were designed in the heathland/woodland type with par 72/73, and they are 5,886 and 5,945 meters long, respectively. Both are marked by large greens, wide fairways, many bunkers, and water hazards. A special feature of the Långe Jan course is the sandy soil typical of Öland, which the original arable land was swapped out for in an elaborate initiative. The Ekerum Resort Öland is one of Sweden’s favorite golf parks. Its Långe Erik course was nominated for the “Best Golf Course in Sweden” award in 2015. Both courses are a challenge for players of all handicaps, particularly since the proximity to the ocean means that the wind is not a factor to be underestimated. For beginners, and for golfers who just want to play a quick round, the Pitch&Putt course with its 9 holes in par 27 is ideal.
