Drakensberg Gardens Golf Club

The Drakensberg Gardens Golf Club, formerly known as Glengarry Country Club, is situated near the South African town of Underberg, part of the province KwaZulu-Natal. It lies at the foot of the southern Drakensberg, which belongs to the 860-hectare world heritage site Ukhahlamba-Drakensberg Park and offers a wonderful view of Rhino Horn Peak and Lake Kwanyoni. From the town center of Underberg, Drakensberg Gardens Golf Club can be reached in 40 minutes via the R 617, and from the metropolis of Durban in three hours via the N 3 and R 617. Founded in 1993, the course was designed by Allan W. Gooderson. He created an 18-hole course with par 72 and a length of 5,738 meters. The layout of Drakensberg Gardens Golf Club’s course presents broad fairways, partly rather large greens, several doglegs and bunkers, as well as water hazards at 11 of the 18 holes. At holes 2, 3, 8, 10, 12, and 15, golfers must brave teeing off across water. Additionally, the right side of the 18th hole is bordered by a large lake surrounded by trees. The golf course is the only 18-hole course in the southern mountains of the province and can be mastered by golfers of all levels. The club does not provide a driving range, but a putting green and a 9-hole pitch & putt course are available.
