The Golden Greens Golf Club is situated near the northwestern Indian city of Gurugram in the state of Haryana. On 111-hectare grounds, it winds through the hills of the Aravalli mountains in the National Capital Region of Delhi-Gurugram and provides a grand view of the surrounding mountain landscape. From Gurugram’s center, the Golden Greens Golf Club can be reached in about 20 minutes via the Mehrauli-Gurugram Road, while the trip from the Indian capital of Delhi takes approximately an hour via the NH48. The club opened in 1998 and is home to an 18-hole links course with par 72. Its design was created by the famous British golf course architect Martin Hawtree with support from Ranjit Nanda. The course, running along wavy terrain between sand dunes and hills and measuring 6,492 meters, features narrow fairways with contoured greens shaped by large rises and displays considerable differences in elevation. The Golden Greens Golf Club’s layout is determined by many trickily placed and deep pot bunkers as well as grass depressions that are easily underestimated. Its signature hole is the 16th hole, which is strewn with pot bunkers. The golf course is the only championship links course in Asia, and also offers a practice area with a 274-meter-long driving range with a target green, chipping and putting greens, as well as a practice bunker.
