Golf Club du Beaujolais

The Golf Club du Beaujolais sits between the towns of Lucenay and Anse in the department of Rhône in the region of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. It lies embedded in the valleys and vineyards of the southern part of the well-known wine region Beaujolais between Lyon and Villefranche-en-Saône. Situated on the grounds of the Domaine Chiel with the remainders of the Château Chiel from the 18th century, the Golf Club du Beaujolais offers good transport links to the neighboring towns. It can be reached from Lyon in half an hour via the A6 and from Villefranche-en-Saône in about 20 minutes via the D306. The golf club was founded in 1989 and provides an 18 hole parkland course with par 72, designed by the golf course architecture firm Green Concept. In 1996, the estate was bought and modified by the Eyraud family. The golf course is 6137 meters long and runs along slightly hilly terrain. The fairways are wide at the start and partially hanging due to the terrain. Spacious greens, sideways water hazards at eight holes, and several cleverly placed bunkers shape the course’s appearance. Both beginners and experienced golfers can manage the course well, although it does require technical know-how. The Golf Club du Beaujolais offers a practice area with a driving range, including covered tees, as well as a 5 hole compact course for golfers in need of practice.
