Golf Club Sokolov

The Golf Club Sokolov is located in the northwestern Bohemian town of Dolní Rychnov on the southern edge of the city of Sokolov (German: Falkenau an der Eger). It is situated close to the German border on 100 hectares of a recultivated spoil heap of a former coal mine. From here, visitors have beautiful views of the Ore Mountains and the Kaiserwald. Due to its location not far from the Bohemian Spa Triangle, the Golf Club Sokolov is well connected to local transportation. Via the E48/E49/R6, it can be reached from Carlsbad, Františkovy Lázně, and Cheb in 15 to 25 minutes. Founded in 2006, the Golf Club Sokolov boasts an 18-hole course, type parkland with par 72, opened in 2005. Its designed by realized by the famous German golf course architects, Städler and Reinmuth, who gave the course the appearance of a Scottish links course. The very hilly, 6,288-meter long course has wide fairways and fast greens, deep bunkers, few, but meaningful water hazards, elevated tees, and significant differences in altitude. It is located 430 meters above sea level and boasts altitude differences of up to 42 meters, as the fairways cross from one plateau level to the next. The championship course at Golf Club Sokolov is considered one of the best in the Czech Republic and Central Europe.
