Golf Club Viesturi

The Golf Club Viesturi was founded in 1998 and is the oldest golf club in Latvia. Because of this and due to the first professional golf school that was established there, the club set the standards for the sport of golf in the Baltic state. The club lies near Jaunmarupe, near the Riga airport. It boasts a beautiful 9-hole course on its 25 hectare grounds. The course in the Golf Club Viesturi is interesting for golfers of all handicaps. It even offers good playing conditions for beginners. A driving range with 16 covered tees and numerous practice greens are available for training. With its 2,560 meters, the course is not very long, but holes 3, 5 and 9 also provide challenging holes for advanced players. Doglegs, water hazards and small, tree-lined fairways demand precisely placed shots, an adequate selection of clubs as well as concentration. The generous clubhouse of the Golf Club Viesturi houses a Pro Shop with rental equipment, a comfortable restaurant as well as a sauna. This is a great place to relax after a round of golf. It is also available to guests. Golf Club Viesturi’s season runs from April until November. But on the beautiful, flat landscape of Viesturi, sport is also a popular option in winter. One can then use the well-prepared ski trails on the club’s grounds for cross-country skiing. There is also a ski rental on site.
