The golf club Golf d’Aubeterre is located in the small town of Pillac, which lies in the department of Charente and belongs to the Aquitaine-Limousin-Poitou-Charente region in western France. It is situated on the grounds of a former cognac distillery and is embedded in the valley of the Charente. Golf d’Aubeterre stretches along the banks of the little river Dronne, close to the border of Dordogne. The club has good transport links and can be quickly reached from neighboring towns. From Aubeterre-sur-Dronne, it takes about ten minutes to get there on the D10 and from Montmoreau-Saint-Cybard 15 minutes via the D709. Even the next biggest city of Angoulème is only 45 minutes away via the D674. Golf d’Aubeterre was founded in 1993 and is home to a 2011 meter long 9 hole, par 32 course. The course was designed by golf architects Gamon & Patrick and is shaped by narrow fairways with countless bunkers and other hazards. It demands tactical skill and precise play from both experienced and novice golfers. A driving range and a putting green are not available, but there is a pitch & putt area for practicing. In the club’s Pro Shop, golfers can find golf clothing and products such as golf balls, gloves, and tees. Golf clubs can be rented.
