The Golf de Coulondres golf club is near the small town of Saint-Gély-du-Fesc, which is situated north of Monpellier in the department of Hérault. It is in the Languedoc-Rousillon region on a hill of pine groves, surrounded by vineyards and the wild vegetation of Garrigue. The Golf de Coulondres provides a spectacular view of the landscape of the region, of the limestone mountain Pic Saint-Loup, part of the Cévennes mountain range, and of the Mediterranean Sea which is only 6 miles away. The golf club has good transport connections and can be reached from Saint-Gély-du-Fesc in just five minutes by car via the Rue de Patus/D112E1. In addition, from Monpellier, it is only a 20 minute journey via the D986 to the golf club. The Golf de Coulondres was founded in 1980 and initially included the 9 hole, par 37 Coulondres course, which was created famous golf course architect Donald Harradine. The course was renovated in 2012 and the par 70, 18 hole Puech course, designed by R. Berthet, was also opened. The facility also built a 5 hole, par 15 compact course. Coulondres is 3,089 meters long and is armed with many doglegs, water hazards and bunkers, flanked by pine and oak forests. Puech runs across very hilly terrain, which varies hugely in heights, and is 5,573 meters long. The course is complicated and identified by short, extremely technically set holes, narrow fairways and solitary trees.
