Golf de Mogador Essaouira – South Course

The Golfclub Golf de Mogador Essaouira is located in the Moroccan artists’ town of Essaouira, right by the Atlantic coast. It lies on a 300-hectare area with sandy ground in a formerly dense forest and is equipped with a wonderful view of white dunes and the ocean. From Essouira’s center, the Golfclub Golf de Mogador Essaouira can be reached via Avenue Mohammed V. in just five minutes. It was founded in 2009 and calls an 18-hole course and a 13-hole course its own, both designed by the famous golf course architect Gary Player. The 18-hole North Course, a links course with par 72 and a length of 6,608 meters, features wide fairways and fast, large greens which are protected by many strategically placed bunkers. A pond functions as a water hazard, but it does not affect the game. Doglegs and several of the front nine holes which wind through boulders and stones, increase the demand of the technical course at the Golfclub Golf de Mogador Essaouira. In 2015, the 13-hole South Course, embedded in a pine forest, was opened. Another five holes are in the planning stage. The course possesses narrow fairways lined by eucalyptus, yucca, and argan trees, several elevated tees, and several water hazards that turn the game into a challenge for golfers of all playing levels.
