Golf de Sancerre

The golf club Golf de Sancerre is located in the suburbs of Saint-Thibault-sur-Loire in central France in the locality of Saint-Satur, near the famous Loire wine city of Sancerre in the Centre-Val de Loire region. It stretches over large area of 62 hectares at the banks of the Loire, with a view of the hills of Sancerre and the surrounding vineyards. Due to its central location in the middle of France, Golf de Sancerre has good transport links. It takes ten minutes to get to the club on the D920 and the D9. Golf de Sancerre is also easy to reach from the larger cities in the area. One can reach the club in 40 minutes from Nevers via the A77 and in 50 minutes from Bourges via the D995. The golf club was established in 1989 and opened as an 18 hole woodland type course with par 71. Golf architect Didier Fruchet was responsible for its design. The 5820 meter course features a flat but wooded terrain with ancient trees, numerous bunkers and water hazards, groves and ponds, as well as elevated greens that demand high athletic and tactical skills from golfers of all abilities. According to Golf Magazine, Golf de Sancerre belongs to the 25 most beautiful golf courses in all of France. Aside from a driving range with 25 tees, ten of which are covered, there is a training area with a 6 hole academy course and a 650 square meter putting green.
