Golf des Chanalets

The golf club Golf des Chanalets lies near Bourg-lès-Valence, a suburb of Valence, the capital of the department of Drôme. Situated in the picturesque region of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, it offers an impressive 360 degree panorama view of Valence, including the Rhône and the Ardèche as well as the massif Vercors in the west of the French Alps. From Bourg-lès-Valence, Golf des Chanalets can be reached in ten minutes via the Avenue de Lyon/D7 and the Route des Gamelles. The same route brings you to the club from Valence in 15 minutes. Avignon is the next biggest city, from which the Golf des Chanalets can be reached in 82 minutes via the A7. The golf club was established in 1990 and initially opened a 9 hole course designed by André Rossi. In 2010, the course was redesigned as an 18 hole park. Pascal Andrieu was responsible for this, setting up the 18 hole prairie type course with par 71. It is 5893 meters long and is situated on very hilly terrain. The greens are built on sand and feature automatic irrigation. While the first nine holes of the course have open fairways, the second half is narrower, as it is surrounded by forests and meadows. Water hazards and bunkers provide additional elements that make the course technically demanding.
