Golf du Château d’Humières

The golf club Golf du Château d’Humières belongs to the municipality of Monchy-Humières, which is part of the department of Oise in the region of Picardie in northern France. It is located on a 56 hectare area in the castle park of the 17th century Château de Monchy-Humières, surrounded by forest and allowing a beautiful view of the valley of the river Aronde. Golf du Château d’Humières lies in front of the gates to Compiègnes and can quickly be reached from Paris in 75 minutes via the A1. It was established in 1988 and calls an 18 hole parkland course with par 70 its own. Golf club architects Jean Claude Cornillot and Patrice Rollin were responsible for its design. The slightly hilly course is 5704 meters long. Countless water hazards such as lakes, ponds, and streams run through it. These were laid out during the times of the Sun King Louis XIV. The golf course’s highlight is hole 3, which lies directly in front of the castle. From 1989 to 1999, Golf du Château d’Humières belonged to the eccentric Japanese billionaire Masako Ohya, known as “Billionaire Rose”. The golf club’s clubhouse is now located in her luxurious former home. It offers a practice area with a driving range with 14 tees, three of which are covered, a putting green, as well as a practice bunker.
