Golf Resort Karlovy Vary

The Golf Resort Karlovy Vary (German: Karlsbad) is located in Olšová Vrata, part of the famous West Bohemian spa town of Carlsbad. It is situated on a plateau along the edge of the Kaiserwald and offers a beautiful panorama view of the surrounding mountains, including Hermannsstein and the Teplá Valley. Six minutes from downtown Carlsbad, the Golf Resort Karlovy Vary is easy to reach from Mariánské Lázně, the second most famous spa town in the region, via Routes 230 and 20 in around 50 minutes. Even from Prague, Route 6 provides for a fast connection in only 105 minutes to the resort. The Golf Resort Karlovy Vary is home to the oldest golf club in the Czech Republic, the Golf Club Karlovy Vary, founded in 1904 and formerly located in Geysirpark on the banks of the Teplá in southern Carlsbad. It only owned a 9-hole course but soon moved to Olšova Vrata due to the increasing number of members. There, it commissioned the construction of an 18-hole course, type woodland with par 72, by the renowned French golf course architect C. Noskowski. The 6,193-meter long championship course is located on wavy terrain with old trees that flank the long, rather narrow fairways. There are significant differences in altitude, three large water hazards, sand bunkers, and some doglegs, all of which create a demanding game.
