Golf Santo Antonio

Golf Santo Antonio is located on the hills above the fishing villages of Salema, near the city of Lagos in the district of Buden, along the western Algarve. It is part of the Santo Antonio Villas, Golf & Spa Resort that borders on the Parque National do Sudoeste Alentejo e Costa Vicentina. Five minutes from Salema, Parque National do Sudoeste Alentejo e Costa Vicentina can be reached from Lagos via the N125 in roughly 25 minutes and from the airport in Faro via the A22 in an hour. The club was founded in 1987 and boasts the 18-hole course Santo Antonio Course with par 71 that used to be called Parque da Floresta Golf Course. Pepe Gancedo was responsible for designing the 5,712-meter long course. He created a course on very hilly terrain, the fairways of which adapt to the natural terrain and run up and down over hills and valleys. They snake by vineyards and eucalyptus trees covering ravines, always flanked by palm, pine, and olive trees. For less athletic golfers, it is recommended to rent an electric cart. The Santo Antonio Course at Parque National do Sudoeste Alentejo e Costa Vicentina is considered the most important golf course along the Algarve the highlight of which is hole 15 that only has the green as a playing point.
