Golfclub Ostfriesland e.V.

Harmoniously located in the Aurich region in the middle of the East Frisian moorlands, the 27-hole park, which is part of Golfclub Ostfriesland e.V. in Wiesmoor, presents itself from its most beautiful side. The golf club was founded in 1980. Its park (par 73) is a relatively level parkland course with wide fairways as well as several ponds, moats and wetlands. The water obstacles and the constant wind blowing across the North German countryside are what give this sporty, challenging course an edge, as well as requiring precise play. Beautiful rhododendron plants and solitary trees are the main features on this 18-hole course, which was designed by Frank Pennink. In 2006 it was enlarged to 27 holes by the golf course architect Christoph Städler, spanning a total area of 100 hectares. Full equipment, including electric trolleys and carts, can be hired on request. The pro shop sells a wide assortment of golf apparel and accessories. Training facilities include a large driving range with 30 teeing points (8 sheltered spots), a pitching, chipping and putting green as well as a practice bunker. The golf club organizes numerous tournaments. The affiliated golf academy provides lessons as well as golf license and trial sessions. The golf restaurant “Blauer Fasan” looks after everyone’s culinary wellbeing. Golfclub Ostfriesland e.V. can be reached by taking the A28, coming off at Westerstede-West and then continuing on the B75 to Remels and on towards Wiesmoor.
