Golfclub Schönfeld

In the Lower Austrian wine region, not far from the Slovakian border, lies the Golfclub Schönfeld that belongs to the municipality of Lassee, district of Gänserndorf. Set in Marchfeld – which is bound by the March in the East – the club is easily reached via the S2 from the metropolis Vienna, only 35 kilometers away. From the Slovakian capital of Bratislava, the club is only 45 minutes away. It was founded in 1989 and has an 18-hole championship course with par 72, as well as a public 9-hole-course “the Nine” with par 56. The championship course is well-suited for both athletic beginners, as well as for experienced golfers. With its fast greens, tricky bunkers and water hazards, numerous hollows and ditches, as well as various tees, the flat course can be quite a challenge for many a golfer. Strong winds can also make playing on the flat course more difficult. The public course with its short fairways, however, is also easy to master for beginners. The Golfclub Schönfeld owns a driving range in its practice area with 20 range tees, of which three are covered. Practice bunkers, as well as putting and pitching possibilities are also available. Golfers can rent electric carts, trolleys, and golf clubs. Interesting is also that the club offers guest courses for free.
