Golfe de Amarante

The golf club Golfe de Amarante is located on the country estate Quinta da Deveza near the city of Amarante in the Portuguese region Norte. It lies at an altitude of 600 meters and offers a wonderful view of the picturesque cities of Amarante and Marco de Canaveses, the terrace-like cliffs of the Douro wine region, and the mountains of the Serra do Marao and Serra do Aboboreira. Golfe de Amarante is ten minutes from Amarante and is well-connected to Porto, only 45 minutes away by care thanks to the A4. The club was founded in 1997 and opened its 8-hole Amrante Golf course, type mountain with par 68, the same year. Its designed is credited to the golf course architect Jorge Santana da Silva that gave it its interesting game. The narrow, elevated fairways always run up and downhill, wind through valleys and groves of trees. Fast, elevated greens, bunkers, and lakes test the golf skills and athleticism of beginners and professionals alike. Additional difficulties can be found in the waterfalls and narrow fairways that require a precise game. At the golf club Golfe de Amarante, players can practice for the challenges of the course at a driving range with 15 range tees, of which six are covered, on a putting green, in a practice bunker, as well as in the chipping area.
