Greymouth Golf Club

Guests are always welcome at the friendly Greymouth Golf Club. Here, a very handsome 18 hole course, situated in picturesque rural settings, awaits golfers. The club is located around five kilometers outside of Greymouth close to the mouth of the Grey River. The small city of Greymouth stretches out along a narrow and wooded stretch of the western coast of the South Island. It lies at the foothill of the Southern Alps. When the weather is clear, you can even see the highest mountain of New Zealand, the majestic Mount Cook that measures 3.724 meters. The par-72 course of the Greymouth Golf Club also offers splendid panoramic views. At a length of 5,587 meters, the course is not very long, but nevertheless offers golfers a comfortable playing environment. The terrain is generally flat, with a few undulating stretches. The fairways, as well as the greens, of the Greymouth Golf Club are very broad and well tended. Doglegs, rough, and large trees offers challenging conditions in some parts, but the course is still well suited for players of all handicaps, The atmosphere at Greymouth is familial. It does not offer a pro shop, but it does offer a box for the green fee. Greymouth is located by State Highway 6, which extends over the western coast. If you decide to linger in the region for a while, be sure to check out the Point Elizabeth walk, a two-hour hiking trail. Over its twelve kilometers, it winds through a nature reserve of unparalleled beauty and historical gold mining sites.
