Guarujá Golf Clube

The Guarujá Golf Clube is near the health resort Guarujá in the Brazilian state of São Paulo. It is located on a 250,000-meter-large area of rainforest with a view of the high-rise buildings of a residential area, with Pernambuco Beach in the background, surrounded by native Guarandi, Massaranduba and Cacheta trees. One can reach the Guarujá Golf Clube, located on the peninsula Santo Amaro and separated from the mainland by a canal, via the Av. Miguel Estéfano from Guarujá in about half an hour, while it takes two and a half hours to reach the golf club from São Paulo. In 1960, it opened an 11-hole-course with par 71, which can be played as an 18-hole-course due to the double tee boxes on the fairways. The course designed by Duarte Nuno Souto Mayor has a length of 5,769 meters and runs across flat terrain with narrow fairways lined by trees, natural traps and six artificial lakes as water hazards at almost all 11 holes. The golf course at the Guarujá Golf Clube is one of the five best 9-hole-courses in Brazil and makes the golf game even more attractive with the two extra holes. The Brazilian Formula 1 driver Rubens Barrichello has already swung the club at the athletically and tactically challenging course. In its practice area, the Guarujá Golf Clube has a driving range, as well as a chipping and a putting green.
