Gunung Geulis Country Club – East Course

When translated, Gunung Geulis means “wonderful mountain”. In Fact, the Gunung Geulis Country Club is located in a great mountain scenery of Ciawi-Bogor about 50 kilometers south of Jakarta. The club has two 18-hole-courses with par 72. These run across 450 ha at an altitude between 400 and 500 meters. The climate is pleasant, the air is fresh and cool in the evening. The west course is the older one of the two courses. It is located on the mountain side of Bogor. The course was designed by Thomson Wolveridge & Perrett. It is 6,075 meters long. Doglegs, deep pot bunkers, water hazards, and trees, which interfere with the game, await the golfer. The east course also originates from the architecture firm. The course is a little shorter and even more challenging. While the first nine holes follow the hilly area and are very wavy, the second nine holes are more gentle and show wide fairways. Breathtaking views of the mountains of Bogor also turn this course into a golfing experience. The striking clubhouse of the Gunung Geulis Country Club originates from the Australian architect Kym Hughes. Here, people meet for a cold drink or to eat after a round. Even if the hotel standard of the Gunung Geulis Country Club does not meet all Western standards, both courses are excellent and worth being played.
