Hacienda Cocoyoc Campos de Golf

The Hacienda Cocoyoc Campos de Golf golf course belongs to an exclusive hotel complex, the Hacienda Cocoyoc on the outskirts of Cocoyoc, a town south of Mexico City in the state of Morelos. Translated into English, this place is called “the place of coyotes”. The rather unflattering name, however, actually belongs to a luxurious spa hotel with diverse leisure facilities such as pool complexes, tennis courts and an adjoining golf course. The estates of the Hacienda Cocoyoc Campos de Golf once belonged to the Spanish discoverer Hernán Cortés. He received them in 1521 as a gift for his merits in the conquest of Mexico. The hotel is located in the historic buildings of the Hacienda, which also include a former sugar factory from the 17^th century that has been tastefully refurbished. The whole estate exudes a noble and pleasant atmosphere of tradition, magnificent architecture and modern comfort. A very well maintained 9-hole course, with narrow lanes surrounded by trees, belongs directly to the hotel. The greens are protected by bunkers and water hazards. Another course, a spacious 18-hole course, is situated approx. 15 minutes away from the first one. There is an organized car shuttle available for hotel guests. The course was created by the golf course designer Mario Schjetnan. There is a spacious driving range with practice greens for warm-up and training. Golf clubs and any further equipment can be bought or rented at the pro-shop. Golfers typically enjoy meeting up in the club restaurant or at the bar after their game.
