Iguassu Falls Golf Club

The Iguassu Falls Golf Club is near the city of Foz do Iguaçu in the southwest of the Brazilian state of Paraná. It lies amid a rainforest on the border between Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay, only a few kilometers away from the famous Iguaçu waterfalls. The Iguassu Falls Golf Club, which belongs to the Wish Resort Golf Convention Foz do Iguaçu, can be reached from the city center of Foz do Iguaçu in about 20 minutes via the Av. das Cataratas. From the international airport in the city it only takes seven minutes to the club. In 2013, the golf area at the resort was completely renovated and partially redesigned. The golf course architect Erik Larsen was responsible for the design. He created the 18-hole Iguassu Falls Golf Club Course in American style with par 72, which was reopened in 2015. The 6,473-meter-long course has wide fairways, surrounded by lush vegetation, but only by a few trees and small greens. Besides elevated greens, such as at hole 16, doglegs at hole 17, and a double fairway at hole 3, mainly water hazards play a role at the course at the Iguassu Falls Golf Club. Large lakes protect the greens at holes 2 and 4, which are surrounded by water. The bunkers made of the red sand, typical of the area, are also remarkable.
