Los Marlins Golf Course & Metro Country Club

The Los Marlins Golf Course is in the town of Juan Dolio, which is in the province of San Pedro de Macoris of the Dominican Republic. It belongs to the Metro Country Club and winds across a more than 450-hectare-large area through a gated community on the Dominican southeast coast. From the center of Juan Dolio, one can reach the Los Marlins Golf Course at the Metro Country Club in five minutes, whereas it takes about a half an hour to reach from the Las Américanas International Airport via Route 3. In 1995, the Los Marlins Golf Course at the Metro Country Club was opened as an 18-hole-course in the type of parkland with par 72. It was designed by the golf course architect Charles F. Ankram and is 5,849 meters long. Its very flat layout is characterized by spacious fairways, which are lined by native trees, numerous cleverly placed bunkers, mounds and some doglegs. Golfers only find water hazards in the form of lakes at holes 6, 7, 11 and 18. Only the latter must be overplayed by a strong tee-off to reach a smaller green. The championship course has a driving range on grass, a putting green, as well as a short game area with practice bunkers. One can also find an 18-hole-mini-golf-course at the Los Marlins Golf Course.
