Madinat Makadi Golf Resort

The Madinat Makadi Golf Resort is located in the Egyptian tourist center of Hurghada by the Red Sea. Surrounded by desert, it lies on a 46-hectare terrain by Makadi Bay and offers a wonderful view of the Red Sea. From Hurghada and its international airport, the Madinat Makadi Golf Resort can be reached in 40 minutes via the Al Hurghada – Qena/Hurghada Safaga Road/Route 65 M. It opened a 30-hole golf park in 2008, comprised of the 18-hole Madinat Makadi Golf Course, a 9-hole executive course, and a 3-hole championship practice holes course. American golf course architect John Sanford was responsible for the design. He created the 18-hole desert type course with par 72 and a length of 6,880 meters which won the distinction of Egypt’s best golf course from 2014 to 2016. The course features broad fairways and large greens, several doglegs, many bunkers, and water hazards at holes 6 to 8. While the front nine run along rather flat terrain and are marked by ponds and streams, the back nine at the Madinat Makadi Golf Resort are embedded into a hilly area. The 9-hole desert executive course with par 27 is slightly hilly and 946 meters long. The 3-hole practice hole course is also designed as a desert course and measures 1,118 meters.
