Magdalene Fields Golf Club

The Magdalene Fields Golf Club is located directly at the mouth of the Tweed into the North Sea, between Tweedmouth and Bournmouth. From Edinburgh, the golf course can be reached in about 75 minutes by car via the A1. From several tees and greens, the charmingly located course offers spectacular views over the cliffs and, in case of good visibility, even views of Holy Island further south of the island. The 18-hole golf course (par 72) of Magdalene Fields Golf Club is the northernmost golf course in England and consists mainly of open parkland. The third hole is called “Sea View” for good reason as players must aim to play the ball onto the green – surrounded by bunkers – near the cliffs. Thanks to several doglegs and difference in elevation, the course at Magdalene Fields Golf Club is rather challenging even for experienced golfers. The 16th hole is one of the course’s highlights. Nicknamed “The Destroyer,” it requires players to play uphill from the beach. Besides a practice area and a putting green, Magdalene Fields Golf Club also has a Pro Shop. If needed, trolleys are available for rent. Packages for overnight stays near the course are also on offer. The cozy clubhouse offers refreshing drinks or a typical English dinner in a familial atmosphere and has plenty of space for groups and events.
