Mooi River Country Club

The Mooi River Country Club lies near Newcastle, the largest city in the north of the South African province of KwaZulu-Natal. It sits at a height of 1,371 meters, embedded in the hills of the northern Midlands and offering a beautiful panorama view of the Drakensberg and the surrounding farmland. From Newcastle’s center, the Mooi River Country Club can comfortably be reached in about half an hour via the N 11, while the trip from the large cities of Pietermaritzburg and Durban requires two to three hours by car. The club was established in 1927 and features a 9-hole parkland course with par 72, plus two additional holes. The course has a length of 6,289 meters and offers golfers two different boxes for teeing off at the fairways, so that Mooi River Country Club’s course can also be played as an 18-hole course. In its practice area, golfers will find a driving range and a putting green. The golf course is ranked among the most beautiful in the Midlands and is also home to a Pro Shop at which golfers can purchase suitable golf clothing and necessary golf equipment such as balls, tees, gloves, and hats. Additionally, golf clubs, trolleys, and electric carts can be rented.
