Niagara OrleansCountry Club

The Niagara Orleans Country Club is close to the small town of Middleport in Niagara County, that is located in the US state of New York. It is located on the premises of a former orchard that was cut into several parts during the construction of the Erie Canal in 1825, and runs along the south side of the canal. From the center of Middleport it takes five minutes via the NY-31 W to get to the Niagara Orleans Country Club, that can be easily reached in about 50 minutes from Buffalo at Erie Lake and from the Niagara Falls. In 1931, it opened an 18-hole course in parkland style with par 71 and a length of 5,486 meters. The course runs across wavy terrain with some doglegs, but mostly straight, long fairways lined by trees and partially very large greens. There are numerous bunkers and water hazards in form of lakes, ponds and streams. Water can be found at 6 of the 18 holes and has to be overplayed at hole 5, 16 and 18. Another difficulty on the otherwise rather easy to athletic course at the Niagara Orleans Country Club is a huge bunker that crosses the fairway at hole 15. The club does not have a driving range for practicing the tee, however it has a large putting green in its practicing area.
