The challenging 18-hole golf course (par 72) at Oldenburgischer Golfclub e.V. is located in Rastede in the north of Olenburg. The park-like grounds in the beautiful Ammerland countryside delight with their old trees, numerous ponds, streams and hedgerows. Play on this rhododendron-framed parkour is dominated by wide fairways, forest trails and strategically placed water obstacles and bunkers. The championship course, newly designed by Holger Rengstorf, is of an international standard and offers a lot of highlights for golfers of all handicaps. Competitive golfers as well as recreational players can enjoy optimal conditions on excellent greens. Oldenburgischer Golfclub e.V. has a long history: it was founded in 1964, and is thus the oldest golf club in the Oldenburg region. The grounds of Oldenburgischer Golfclub e.V. are not only open to club members, but also to golfers with handicaps (DGV) or those participating in trial sessions and development courses. Golf equipment can be hired or purchased in the on-site pro shop. The spaciously laid out driving range at Oldenburgischer Golfclub e.V. has 15 teeing points (5 sheltered) and, with its practice greens, bunkers, chipping and pitching greens, it provides excellent facilities for intensive training. Oldenburgischer Golfclub e.V. has an active, competitive club life with several tournaments during the year. The golf park is rounded off with a golf academy, a modern clubhouse in a former thatched farmhouse, and a restaurant.
