Orna Golf & Country Club

The Orna Golf & Country Club is situated in the small town of Bemban in the southern Malalysian state of Malakka. It covers hilly terrain with clear differences in elevation and presents less jungle vegetation and trees than most other Malaysian golf courses. From Bemban’s center, the Orna Golf & Country Club can be reached in seven minutes, and in about half an hour from Malakka City. Founded in 1997, it boasts a 27-hole park comprised of three 9-hole loops with par 36 that was created by American golf course architect Andy Dye. The East Course has wide fairways, well-protected, partly elevated greens, huge greenside bunkers, doglegs, and even double doglegs. Nearly all holes include water. Hole 9 should be highlighted, which not only requires a shot across a large pond, but also presents a split-level fairway. The West Course offers wavy fairways, numerous bunkers, considerably fewer water hazards, but plenty of sand. Hole 17 receives golfers with an ocean of sand in front of the green. The signature hole is hole 12 with an island green. The North Course displays hilly fairways, elevated greens, as well as water at seven holes. Together, the East and West Course form the championship course at the Orna Golf & Country Club, which is considered one of the most difficult and demanding in southern Malaysia.
