Oughterard Golf Club

Both charming and challenging, the 18-hole course at the Oughterard Golf Club is located in County Galway. The facilities are situated in a calm, wonderful, and rural area between the Lough Corrib (the largest lake in Ireland) in the east, and the Connemara Mountains in the northwest. They create a stunning background. In this majestic landscape, the golf course architect John Harris created a challenging golf course that was meticulously modernized in 1997 by Paddy Merrigan. The parkland course with par 70 is a total of 5,477 meters long. Traditional stone walls cut through the golf course and give it a magical, typically Irish feel. The fairways at the championship course are surrounded by magnificent trees. Numerous water hazards, tricky bunkers, and dog legs pose challenges even for experienced golfers. However, players are rewarded with a modern club house set in a historic farm house that offers members and guests amenities, such as a restaurant, bar, Pro Shop, and changing rooms, etc. On-site, there is also a generous driving range to train, as well as a golf school. The Oughterard Golf Club boasts a beautiful golf course, only 25 kilometers from downtown Galway.
