Oxfordshire Golf Club

The Oxfordshire Golf Club is located between Oxford and Aylesbury and can be reached by the nearby M40 and from London in around 70 minutes by car. The course was designed by the golf course architect Rees Jones and opened in 1993 after extensive landscaping. In contrast to many other golf clubs in England, the Oxfordshire Golf Club is less oriented towards typical English golf tradition, but rather boasts a more exciting combination of English and Japanese design elements. The 18-hole links course has, despite its relatively short history, been the host of meaningful golf tournaments such as “the Wilkinson Sword Ladies English Open” and the “Benson & Hedges European Open.” Even experienced golfers will be challenged here, as the fairways at the Oxfordshire Golf Club are transected by four lakes and an impressive 135 sand bunkers. Due to the special form of the fairways, hole 3 (for example), is known as “Fiddler’s Elbow.” In the on-site Pro Shop, the most important and high-quality brands of international golf manufacturers are made available. The golf academy offers individual lessons with qualified trainers and modern training possibilities, such as video coaching. Both English and Japanese design elements were combined when building the club house, creating cozy hotel rooms and the Tempus Spa, as well as delicious refreshments and snacks.
