Palm Valley Golf & Country Club

The Palm Valley Golf & Country Club lies near the residential complex of Akright City, which belongs to the administrative district of the capital of Kampala in central Uganda. It stretches across a 120-hectare area in the Akright Kakungulu Housing Estate at the foot of the hills in Palm Valley. From Akright City’s center, Palm Valley Golf & Country Club is just six minutes away, and it can be reached in about an hour from Kampala via Kampala-Entebbe Road. The club opened a 9-hole course with par 72 in 2010, for which the golf course architect team Allan Fredrickson, Mark Chatleski, and Robin Evans provided the design. The course was actually planned as an 18-hole course, but so far, only the first 9 holes can be played. Surrounded by numerous trees and shrubs, the course features wavy fairways and reputedly the best greens in East Africa. The championship course at Palm Valley Golf & Country Club is streaked with many ditches, swamps, artificial ponds as well as huge bunkers that effectively protect the greens and fairways. Water comes into play at holes 1, 3, and 7 and even requires a thought-out strategy from experienced golfers to overcome it. In order to better master the course at Palm Valley Golf & Country Club in a relaxed way, caddies are available to golfers if desired.
