Pestana Silves Golf Course

The Pestana Silves Golf Course is located 3.7 kilometers southeast of the historically interesting city of Silves with its well-known Moorish citadel. It belongs to the Pestana Group that owns numerous golf courses along the western Algarve. At the foot of the Monchique mountains, the Pestana Silves Golf Course offers a wonderful view of the bordering valley with its orange and olive groves, palm trees, as well as cork and citrus fruit farms. Due to its good connection to the A22, it can be easily reached by car. Via the N124-1, the golf course can also be easily reached from Portimão, only 20 minutes away. It is 5,615 meters long and is one of the newest golf courses along the Algarve. Opened in 2006, the design of the e Pestana Silves Golf Course is credited to José Matias, Peter Booth, and the golf course architects Fausto Nascimento. They created an 18-hole course, type parkland with par 70, that lies in slightly hilly terrain with many water hazards. Fast greens, wavy fairways, doglegs, bunkers, and lakes demand not only athleticism from players, but also strategy. This can be practiced in the training area of the club, equipped with a driving range, a chipping area, and practice bunkers. To better traverse the course, electric trolleys and carts can be rented.
