Pestana Vale da PintaGolf Course

Surrounded by the Monchique mountains, the Pestana Vale da Pinta Golf Course is located near the town of Carvoeira along the western Algarve. It belongs to the courses at the Pestana Resort, one of the largest golf resorts in Portugal. Via the R. Infante de Sagres, visitors can reach Pestana Vale da Pinta Golf Course from Portimão in five minutes from the Faro Airport. The course was opened in 1992 and designed by the famous American golf course architect Ronald Fream as an 18-hole championship course with par 71. 6,127 meters long, the Pestana Vale da Pinta Golf Course cuts through small hills and narrow valleys. On its wavy terrain, sand bunkers, doglegs, and water hazards, as well as carob, almond, olive, and fig trees make the course athletically challenging. One of the olive trees at the course is supposed to boast the age of 1,200 years. Especially interesting is the hole 13, with strong winds often providing surprises, as well as hole 16 that is characterized by a large bunker. The Pestana Vale da Pinta Golf Course is considered one of the best designed courses in the Algarve and Europe. It has already been used eight times for the European Senior Tour Qualifying Final is looked favorably upon as a tournament course.
