Pine Cliffs Golf Course

The Pine Cliffs Golf Course is located on 68 hectares near the city of Albufeira along the southern coast of Portugal. It is situation on a steep coast at an altitude of 60 meters over the Atlantic, imbedded in a grove of pine trees, and offers a majestic view of the spread-out sand beaches of the Algarve and the ocean. The Pine Cliffs Golf Course is only 10 kilometers from Albufeira and 30 minutes from Faro Airport via the A22. It was designed in 1991 by the British golf course architect Martin Hawtree as a 9-hole course with par 32 and is a small, but challenging course with 2,227 meters; its short fairways, lined with pine trees, run parallel to the Atlantic Ocean. The Pine Cliffs Golf Course is considered one of the most extraordinary golf courses in Portugal that boasts its own interest golf treasures. Hole 4 lies like a narrow needle eye in the middle of a pine forest and demands great precision when playing. Hole 9 is the highlight of the course, called the Devil’s Parlor, and excites with its championship tee high over a ravine. Golfers must muster a 197-meter swing over the cliffs in order to land on the very deep green.
