Golf Club Poděbrady

The Golf Club Poděbrady is located near the Czech spa town of Poděbrady on the banks of the Elbe in Central Bohemia. It is surrounded by Elbe meadow woods and also offers a view of a passing steamship. From Poděbrady, with its castle from the 13th century, the Golf Club Poděbrady can be reached in three minutes via Route 611. From the capital of Prague, visitors can take the D11 to reach the club in only 45 minutes. The club was founded in 1961 and boasts an 18-hole championship course, type parkland/woodland with par 72. Golf course architects Wagner and Havelka were responsible for its design. They created a 6,086-meter long course that traverses flat terrain. Its narrow fairways often wind through forest and are characterized by old trees, many water hazards, such as ponds, streams, and lakes, in addition to numerous bunkers and doglegs. Some fairways are crossed by waterways. The course at Golf Club Poděbrady is athletic and tactically challenging, but can be mastered by both beginners and experienced golfers. Although initially designed as a 9-hole course, it is one of the oldest courses in the Czech Republic. In the club’s training area, a driving range with 15 range tees, of which eight are covered, a putting green, two pitching greens, practice greens, and a 6-hole short course are available.
